Badger Mountain’s Canyon Trail from Trailhead Park (525 Queensgate Dr., Richland) is the classic: a steady climb to summit views of all three cities and the rivers. Go early in summer — there’s no shade.

Can I still walk to Bateman Island?
No. The causeway that connected Bateman Island to Columbia Park West has been removed to restore Yakima River flow for salmon, so the island is now reached only by boat.
