Sources and verification
- Every listing, event, job and update names its primary source and shows the date it was last verified.
- We prefer official sources: the business or organizer itself, government agencies and public filings.
- We never republish review text or customer photos from other platforms. Business descriptions are written by us from verified facts.
- Images on this site are original illustrations or photos we have rights to use; we never invent photos of real businesses.
How we use AI
AI tools help us gather public information, structure it, draft summaries and produce Spanish translations. People decide what publishes. Ordinary items may publish after automated checks with native-speaker spot checks; civic and safety items stay blocked until a person reviews both the English and Spanish versions. Pages translated with machine assistance show a notice until reviewed. Our section illustrations are AI-generated artwork, not photographs.
Paid vs. editorial
Paid placements are labeled “Featured” or “Pro.” Payment never decides whether something is listed, never changes the content of an editorial answer, and never buys a Reader Pick or a vote.
Corrections
Found an error? Use “Report a correction” on any page or the correction form. We fix factual errors promptly, update the verified date, and note substantive corrections on the page. If a page can’t be made accurate, we remove it.
What we don’t do
Investigative reporting, crime blotters and mugshots, public comment sections, or automatic outbound messages. We link to local newsrooms for accountability journalism.
