Which school district are you in?
Nine public school districts serve Benton and Franklin counties. District lines don’t always follow city limits, so look up your address with your district before you enroll.

Enrolling a student
- Find your district by address, not by city name. Parts of the Tri-Cities sit in a neighboring district, and West Richland is served by the Richland School District.
- Have these ready: proof of address (a lease, mortgage statement or utility bill), the student’s birth certificate or other proof of age, and immunization records.
- Kindergarten: children who are 5 by August 31 can start that fall. Districts open kindergarten registration in the spring.
- Moving mid-year? Students can enroll any time during the school year. Call the school office to set up a start date.
Colleges
Columbia Basin College in Pasco and Washington State University Tri-Cities in Richland. High school students can take college classes for credit through Running Start.
