Submission terms

What happens to what you send

• Submissions enter a private review queue. Nothing you send publishes automatically.
• We may edit, summarize, translate, combine or decline any submission.
• Your name, email and other contact details are kept private and are never published. If you give a first name with a Reader Pick or photo, we may use it as credit.

License you grant

By submitting, you grant Benton Franklin a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to publish, edit, translate and display your submission on bentonfranklin.com and its related channels. You keep ownership of your work.

What you promise

• You own or have permission to share what you submit, including photos.
• Photos of identifiable people, especially minors, are shared with their (or a guardian’s) permission.
• Your submission is accurate to the best of your knowledge and isn’t spam, harassment or an advertisement disguised as news.

Takedowns

To request removal of something you submitted, or content about you, use the contact form. We respond to takedown requests promptly.

Emergencies

Our forms are not monitored in real time. If someone is in danger, call 911.
