U-pick tips

  • Go early: fruit is cooler, lines are shorter, and some farms close once picked out for the day.
  • Bring cash, water, sun protection and shallow containers; many farms sell buckets or boxes.
  • Check each farm’s Facebook page the morning you go. Small orchards often close for a day or two to let fruit ripen.
  • Pick only what the farm tells you to, and leave pets at home unless the farm says they’re welcome.
