Richland Urban Growth Area amendment near Badger Mountain Preserve proposed

Benton County is considering Comprehensive Plan Amendment CPA 2026-001, which would remove about 140 acres from Richland’s Urban Growth Area near Badger Mountain Preserve while adding about 190 acres zoned for recreation (RL-5) and about 254 acres zoned RL-1, which could be used for a future school site or housing.

The Benton County Commissioners have a hearing scheduled for Nov. 3, 2026.
