Cascade Natural Gas proposes municipal tax increase for Richland customers

Cascade Natural Gas filed the request with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission on July 24, 2026. If approved, residential customers using about 53 therms a month would see their average bill rise from $104.75 to $105.51. The company’s filing also phases out a lower tax tier starting Jan. 1, 2027, when all billings would be taxed at 9.289%.
