Which Tri-City should I live in?

There is no single best city — the three are one connected metro, and most people cross a bridge for something every week. Start with your commute and school district, then compare neighborhoods.

  • Richland: closest to Hanford and PNNL jobs, WSU Tri-Cities, the riverfront Howard Amon and Leslie Groves parks, and the Uptown district. Runs its own electric utility.
  • Kennewick: the region’s retail center (Columbia Center, Southridge), the most varied housing stock, Columbia Park and a historic downtown.
  • Pasco: Franklin County’s seat and the fastest-changing city, with large newer neighborhoods in west Pasco, Columbia Basin College, the airport and a strongly bilingual downtown.
  • West Richland, Benton City, Prosser, Connell: smaller-town living and more land, with longer drives.
