Off-road and OHV riding
Two places to ride legally near the Tri-Cities: the open sand at BLM Juniper Dunes and the trails and tracks at Horn Rapids ORV Park.

Horn Rapids ORV Park
More than 300 acres of sandy desert trails plus motocross, peewee and ATV tracks, an obstacle course, a go-kart track and a model aircraft field, with camping on site.
Juniper Dunes OHV Area
About 3,920 acres of BLM land open to off-highway vehicles northeast of Pasco: loose sand, trails through sagebrush, open dunes and primitive roads.
Rules that apply everywhere
- Every off-road vehicle needs current Washington registration tabs (or your home state’s).
- Helmets are required on motorcycles and ATVs on BLM land.
- Stay in the open riding area. The Juniper Dunes Wilderness next door is closed to all motor vehicles and bikes.
- Riding on wildlife areas is limited to open roads and parking areas; most WDFW units here prohibit vehicles off-road.
- Bring water and a spare. Juniper Dunes has no services and summer sand gets very hot.
