Rattlesnake Slope Wildlife Area Unit

Shrub-steppe on the lower slopes of Rattlesnake Mountain, 5 miles north of Benton City, bought for upland bird habitat and hunting access. The fenced Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility sits inside it.

What to do

  • Hike or hunt on foot; about 23 miles of roads and trails.
  • Look for spring wildflowers.

Know before you go

  • Foot traffic only; no vehicles past the parking area.
  • Daylight hours only. No overnight camping and no open fires.
  • Target shooting is not allowed outside the developed range.
